I've liked Corelle for decades. I got a set when I moved away from home about 30 years ago.
The one thing that I don't like now is that you apparently cannot get Vitrelle cups. The "matching" cups are stoneware. In my experience, stoneware breaks too easily. It's also rather heavier than Vitrelle.

We replaced our old (1979) Corelle set with new ones. We needed extra plates and lunch size plates (which were included in our old set, but not in the new set). The price was good and delivery prompt. Our only complaint is that the quality control seems to have gone down hill since World Kitchens has taken over the Corelle line from Corning. Several of the new plates are warped (more that I would like to see) compared with our old plates, but they are still usable.

This is my 3rd set of Corelle dinnerware in the last 30 years and the quality of the dishes is not what it used to be. The plates and both are much thinner and lighter weight. They seem to be much more fragile and not the study dinnerware that I have had in the past. This will be my last set, I will definelty shop around before purchasing my next set of everyday dinnerware.

I spent months looking at other dishes, other patterns, other everything and ended up back with Corelle. There's just nothing else out there that is as durable and as light. We chose this pattern because it's very affordable for everyday use. Originally, I had planned to buy pieces at Wal-Mart (they have this pattern, which is a plus) but actually got a better deal here on World Kitchen. Was so happy to get rid of the collection of mismatched plastic, melamine, and whatever that I had!

So good to find a site where I can enhance my new set with the pieces that we use more of, without buying more sets with pieces we use less. Having extra dinner plates means not having to worry about what is in the cupboard and what is in the dishwasher. We love the coordination of the open stock pieces, with no worries about different dye lots or color. The packaging is great.

Primarily, I love that these plates are light weight, microwave and dishwasher safe. I purchased one 10"x 14" to replace one that I loaned out which was never returned. Guess my friend loved it too. =) I also purchased (4) four desert/salad plates and drinking cups. I like the design and the fact that I can continue to purchase other items to compliment and complete my set. I will order again and again from Cornelle, the price can't be beat and delivery is prompt with products well packaged to prevent damage.

I enjoy my Corelle dishes very much--they are lightweight and very durable! Great for when small children come for dinner but nice enough for company.
