The glasses hold 8 oz. only if you fill them all the way to the brim. The way the glasses are made, there is a 1/2" base that fills with water in the dishwasher - a pain to dump out each glass after they are clean.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very light and already broke one of them. Acrylic means kid cup plastic. Good juice cups at breakfast and design matches rest of set. Can use in dishwasher so easy to handle but not the best of what they offer.
I would recommend this to a friend!
