It's nice to have a knife that will cut a tomato and this one it great! It's also good for cutting everything from meat to mangos and we love it! Glad we found Chicago Cutlery again.

Serrations on the blade

I like knives that are sharp and have no serrations on them to cause the cutting blade to tear the material that is being cut as opposed to cutting cleanly through it. These blades appeared to me to be clean blades on the ad that I looked at to purchase them, and that is one of the difficulties with buying on the Internet as opposed to seeing an item in a brick and mortar store, you cannot see adequate detail in the pictures on the web site. I would not have purchased these knives had I known that the blades were serrated, but I did, and I will keep them, but they will not see the use that they would if they had not had those serrations.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
